CLASSES

In 2017 I  will continue to offer glass-blowing classes from beginner through intermediate through Cabrillo Arts Extension. These classes are different from the 2-hour workshops. Workshops are a great introduction to glass that allows everyone to create a piece that they can take home (usually the next day, after annealing); classes introduce the student to skills and technical knowledge that is foundational to developing the ability to work with glass.

2015

June 13
A Day of Art at Ventana Gallery Big Sur
11am-6PM
The Ventana Artist Showcase will feature more than two hundred works of Art by   California Central Coast Artists who will also be on site to meet, greet and talk with guests. My first two outdoor installations will be on display as well as several of my smaller pieces in the gallery.  Event time is 11am -6pm. Scheid Vineyards will be offering tastings from 12pm-3pm.

June 27th
Hot Glass Experience – Paperweights
1pm-3pm
A 2-hour mini-workshop and introduction to working with hot glass. After a short demo, we’ll guide participants in stretching and shaping the 2,000 degree glass to create a beautiful paperweight or object d’art. This hands-on studio session allows you to select and apply colors, twist and turn the molten glass, then shape the materials according to your creative vision.

No experience with hot glass is necessary — this workshop is a fun way to get a feel for glass and experience what it’s like to be in a hot shop. Everyone gets to take home something they make with their own hands.

Glass experiences are also a great option for groups (like when your relatives come to town are you want to do something really cool with them), or as a team-building activity for coworkers. Call or email to schedule a private event.

To Register: Call 831-704-7120 or email chris@chrisjohnsonglass.com
